Howdy all! Hope late fall is finding everyone bright eyed and bushy tailed. Looks like I will be up in Sheridan, Montana on November 5th to attend the 5L Red Angus sale with a good friend and neighboring rancher here on the desert. Not sure if any of my ranchers.net friends are close by, but thought it would be fun to shake hands if ya are. Going up Wednesday the 4th and getting there in the afternoon/evening. Spending the night in Dillon MT. Going to the sale on the 5th and then driving back to Utah so it's a quick trip. Yell if you are nearby or will be at the sale. It isn't often I get my parole officer to let me roam but looking forward to seeing a little new country to me. :D

If you were any kind of a compadre' you would have been here tomorrow and Saturday for preg testing and caught the bull sale on the way home............

why the rush? you're driving right by the first territorial capital of Montana--Bannack---a well preserved ghost town. And within 20 miles of the second--Virginia city--county seat of Madison county---a living ghost town---where the sheriff by day--henry plummer--led the outlaws by night---till hung--along with about 40 others--by the vigilantes. If I was down that way, I'd buy you a couple at bale of hay saloon. (you could reciprocate at the star in elko) and Dillon itself is a classic---and only maybe 60 miles from Butte, America---and you just drove by a 'gateway' to the 'Big Hole'--twice! You're dashing thru--or by--- some mighty neat country a might fast, amigo--

I know this is a fast trip. This time a year is sure busy out here. My friend Chad has been going to the 5L sale every year for awhile and invited me to tag along. I probably should stay here and cut wood or work on fences or a hundred other irons I have in the fire. But a quick trip still beats staying home.

I went to Virginia City when my sweet bride and I were on our honeymoon and its a neat town. My Grandmother was born in Butte. I'd love to tour the state for a month someday, just looking at ranches and seeing western history. That'll have to wait for another trip.
