Lightendofthesteercalves.jpg

Light end of the steer calves. They would have been sold yesterday had the weather been nice. The auction was cancelled.
Butatleasthisearsareheavy.jpg

The calf is light but at least his ears are heavy.
Spoilingthecowsforoneday.jpg

Spoiling the cows with hay for one day, mainly to take inventory and see if they came through the storm okay.

That little baldy steer.......... now I KNOW how they make braymers. :D

Hard to believe..... how many thousand miles north? It is sprinkling rain here tonight, go figure.
My relates in N Dak got a foot of snow out of that one.

Soapweed I 'll bet your daughter is so very glad you took all the pictures you did while she was away. It looks cold in your part of the world, we have just had a skiff of snow several weeks ago, your snow was rain for us a few days prior to hitting you guys.

BRRRRR! We just got terrible winds, gusts to 70 mph+ and cold.

Your cattle look good, and you're probably happy the calves have been off them for a bit :D .

Looking good Saopweed! Wintry days are just fine for staying inside and watching movies or talking on Ranchers.net. :D

We had cold- and wind yesterday with a skiff of snow...Cow sale had few calves because of many cancellations-- BUT Today started out with a little snow floating down- no wind- and it cleared off and actually was a nice day.....

The last couple days I had a chance to talk to several buyers and truckdrivers that all said they had trucks stuck all over that ND/SD/NB country...

ACK! such nasty weather!. We had some now yesterday, but quite a bit melted today. It all needs to go  :) . Some of the roads were very slippery this morning  . I'm quite surprised we didn't lose power too.
Great pics though even if they have the *dreaded snow* in them. :santa:
Wonder how much snow you actually had if the wind hadn't have blown it away?

Looks like you had it a little tuffer than we did here...We had the dang wind blowing beyond the windsock gauge..lol but we didn't get the snow like you did,,I think maybe...2inches..hard to tell when it's all blown up in small drifts. I thought maybe we were gonna lose power a couple of times,,,but the ole lines hung in there for us...Glad you had such good company to spend the outage with...

Thanks for the pics, Soapweed. Great!

We got 1.73" of moisture. MOstly rain, with maybe six or more inches of snow after. Great moisture, nasty roads! Could be much worse. Hear some drifts are 20' deep. ANd the off ramp at Wall, SD was bladed out and left a channel higher than a pickup cab to drive through.

Lots of people without power. We were lucky on that count. Just off an hour or so a couple of times.

Power outages are the norm in this country during the winter storms, but man all that snow reminds me of winter, thier threatning snow on us tommorrow.Raining now, lots of thunder and lightning, about 32 degress.
