Well it worked!
Reminds me of the time, 25 years ago, I was taking a load of
calves to the Toronto Stockyards in my goose neck tandem trailer.
The shackle bolt on the trailer's back axle, driver's side,
broke when I was on the edge of the city and there I was
with the axle angled back far enough so that the tire was
rubbing on the frame.
On the side of Hwy 401 or maybe Eglington St., no less.
Luckily, I had in the back seat of my pickup a come-along like
the one in your picture so I used it to pull the axle back into
alignment and finished the trip on a "come-along and a prayer".
And didn't meet a DOT that trip!
Those were the days . . .
