I'm glad you are enjoying the pictures. It is an awesome sight seeing the moon shadowed over. Too bad you got cloudy skies down there.

It was cloudy here most of the day. Cleared up later in the afternoon. I actually didn't know anything about it until my mother called tonight and told us to have a look out the window.

I was watching it all the way home from Regina. Clear skies all the way.

Strange how it came across from the left side then moved off towards the top.

Had a clear sky in northwest Nebraska tonight. Was quite a sight to see the moon covered.

Dang it!!!! I thought about putting the camera on the tripod, got sidetracked. Anyway, our pics didn't come out as nice as yours, so I won't even attempt to post!!! BTW, very excellent pictures....thanks for sharing!

I did track down a tripod. No way would my shots have been that good without it. Was one for an old spotting scope that seems to have vanished. But, I have a better use for it now.....

Ok...I tried the moon tonite as it was gorgeous again...no luck to speak of, what setting did you use on your camera? I have a sony too, and so the settings should be about the same...It's gonna drive me nuts till I get a great shot like yours...thanks

Now let's change the subject. We have all heard the phrases about the "Man in the Moon." As a result, we all know about the "Man in the Moon". and how he is "looking" sort of 'up over our left shoulder", and 'his' right eye is larger than his left eye. Okay?

But have you ever heard about the "Rabbit" in the Moon? NO? Why - look again! See him? You don't?? Look again. - - - - He is lying on his stomach, with his head to the right of us. His head is the left eye of the 'man in the moon', his body is the right eye of the 'man in the moon', and his little legs are sort of hanging out at the bottom of the 'man's' right eye.

See it yet?? - - - -You don't huh?? Well, you need a little more "Romantic Imagination!" You would be surprised how many girls I have pointed that rabbit out to - and what they - - - -well, enough said on THAT subject!

You might even picture a big, RED Fire ant eating a piece of Ant Poison Bait! - - - -Don't see that either, huh??

Well, let me put my arm around your shoulders, and point out these very romantic factors, and you sight along my arm and index finger as I describe the various features to you. Now just sit a little closer to me, and listen very carefully as I describe the rabbit to you. Do you see his cute little feet? Look closely! No?? - - - Well,. . . . . what shall we talk about now??

My camera has a setting for Twilight/low light. So I used that . Use a tripod if you are zooming in on it. Then use your timer, because that gives you time to step away from the camera after you press the shutter button. That way you aren't causing a vibration. That is all I did. My camera is a DSC-H7 with a 15x optical zoom.

That's what my camera it too Obviously the tripod is the key, because mine didn't turn out anything like yours!!! Good to know about using the timer, I wouldn't have thought of that.
