Going that far back on the genetic line may produce some better cattle. A lot of the reason I am a hereford breeder is the cattle I saw bringing top dollar in the late 90's for herd sires. I have always thought the late 80's was the prime of the angus breed. The trouble with reaching the ideal is you have to stay there. That creates trouble with your customers because your cattle aren't "better" than they were a few years ago.


Anytime the industry passes you going from one way to the other, stay the course because they will be back.
