Carl Pelini is sorry too, everybody
Posted on: November 23, 2010 Posted by Tom Fornelli

Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini has already apologized for the way he acted during Saturday night's loss against Texas A&M, that behavior generally consisting of testing the boundaries of the human ear drum and vocal chords. Well, Bo wasn't the only member of the Pelini family who acted somewhat regrettably on Saturday night.

Carl Pelini got a bit handsy with a cameraman following the game, and when I say handsy, I mean he went after the cameraman and knocking the camera out of his hands. If you don't believe me, check out the video here.

Well, much like his brother did on Monday, Carl wanted to let everybody know he's sorry on Tuesday.

"I apologize for the events that occurred after Saturday night's game at Texas A&M," Carl Pelini said in a statement. "It was a very emotional situation and the mob scene on the field after the game amplified that. Having been involved in a similar situation in 2003 at Missouri, and in witnessing the situation on the field, I made a poor decision in trying to prevent a reporter from recording the scene. I have acknowledged this from the very beginning. Unfortunately, in trying to prevent a scene, I created one. We have been in contact with Brandon Jones and I have apologized to him directly for putting my hands on his camera. I offered to pay for any damages to the camera, but Brandon indicated there were none."

While there may be no physical damage to the camera, there's no word on what kind of emotional distress the camera felt due to the incident.

I read today that the A&M kid has retained a lawyer.... those Pelini brothers are gonna wind up being a big black eye on NU....and it could NOT happen to a better team.

He retained a lawyer for WHAT?

The Pelini brothers need to calm down, but the whole damn state was fuming after that home job. I wish Pelini would of went up to the referee, knocked him in the mouth with a roundhouse right, cut a check for $50K or whatever the penalty would be and threw it at him.

That is exactly wrong with this country. Everybody is too damned lawsuit happy, looking for the big payoff, the get rich quick scheme. Not to mention the retarded juries who award the big payoffs, thinking they are helping "stick it to the man".

Just because the A&M punk retained a lawyer, so what? Would he have retained a mouthpiece if he had been wiped out by an end coming down with a pass right on the sideline? Football is a contact sport, an emotional sport, and crap happens. He should have been aware of that fact, as it probably wasn't his first football game, and if he wasn't prepared for something unexpected to happen, he should have never been there in the first place. Being right on the football field with a camera in your hand makes you a kind of target, with the potential to be right in the thick of the action. Doubtful that a decent judge would even look at a suit like this. Carl offered to pay for damages and apologized, to the A&M punk and the nation. Just because you sue doesn't mean you automatically collect.

What do you call Kansas State players who have played for the Big 12 Championship?

OLD.

What his Pelini punk azz needs is to be locked away for assault & battery for a couple of years.

Those two guys are classless trash and the Huskers will one day regret allowing them in their fieldhouse period.......write it down..

What do you call Kansas State players who have played for the Big 12 Championship?
What the immediately above question has to do with the Pelini thugs I'm not sure?

I cannot even comprehend anyone attempting to defend them and/or their antics last weekend..........

And i've always been told what class you Nebraska folks had. I was lied to. But let him hit the guy. 5 to 10 in state pen should soften his worthless ash up. some

Is there any penalty for a man sexually assaulting another man in Texas?

What is a "classy" person supposed to do in the event of a homejob like that TB? Good grief, you can push a competitor so far....

Pelini is the first coach to get upset over a bevy of bad calls? I've moved on, and even cheered for A&M last night. I'm not holding anything against you guys, but you can bet that Dan Beebe was liking what he was seeing.

Carl must of learned that behavior when he was a student at Kansas St.....

Didn't you mean to say, "Accepting a better deal and moving to a classier neighborhood"?

The whole SCHOOL is moving?

The school, and the state. It will be be nice to compete where the referees speak a really nice unbroken midwestern twang

NU talking bout going to where they are loved and can get a fair shake seems funny after so many years of the infamous crooked sideline in Happy Valley...even the biggest prick announcer, Matt Davidson, commented on that during the husker / buffies game yesterday !!

face it, husker fans have NEVR lost a game, they were either robbed by the refs, conspired on by the league, or had some other lame excuse. that lack of being able to own up to a loss is one of the many reasons I hate to be near NU fans.....

Just as long as we can understand the phrase " there is no foul on the play...". Seems to be spoken in the north.

I read on rivals or someplace last night that Big 12 honcho Dan Beebe (or however the hell you spell his name) REFUSED to attend the NU-CU game in Lincoln, where he should have presented Nebraska the Big 12 North trophy. His reason....."security concerns". It seems he received a couple of letters this past week from disgruntled Nebraska fans concerning the "officiating" at the A&M game.

Now, you tell me.....he surely could have hired 2-4 off duty or vacationing Texas Rangers to hop in Jerry Jones' Lear or some UT alum or booster's Gulfstream with him and fly on up to Lincoln...it's like 3 miles from the airport to the stadium, he could have presented the trophy (which, I would say, is part of his job description, jumped back in the limo, go to the port, and fly back home. What a guy he is....
