sure do miss NR's narration of the hunt. anyone been out yet? scouted some big un's?

Some fellows hunting on our place stuck a arrow in a decent buck yesterday morning.
A fellow called my son's partner in the gravel business about hauling some gravel to a oil lease and about hunting. He got a 220 mule deer buck with foot long drop tines. I figure they should get some gravel work for the tip about where that buck hung out.

Too hot here for me yet. I'll wait until it cools down and most of the elk hunters have given up. October works best for me.

Shot a steer in the corral about a week ago.

Shot a wild hog about 20 yards from our house tonight. Things are getting Brave now, but a 270 will make them unbrave real fast. :lol:
