I'll try to answer your question. Yes, all photos submitted must be taken by the person submittin them. I think later we have a catagory (or we did last year) that was for old black and white photos, taken of or by family members.
If I'm not right on this, Faster horses may be able to answer it better.

Are b/w photos OK that were originally color, but converted to b/w for this contest?

Yes. We are taking 'edited' photos this time.
We don't normally allow 'edited' photos, but this time it is ok.

unless the rules for that particular catagory state otherwise.

Yes the deadline is Wed at midnight, send your entries to me in a pm. We aren't too strict on the deadline tho, as long as I have spaces open (up to 10 entires) I'll add late entries.
