Wonder why they would do that since so many products use it and label and are well accepted.

Seems like the request would cost more than labelling it, with virtually no benefitfor omitting the label.

I say people ought to be taking a hold of the reins and contacting their senators and congressmen.

Many of them coming up for rel-election are apt to listen to those who send the most letters.
Get your friends gathered up and go to work and we can change this country back around.

The comparison to raw milk and its regulation is more appropriate.

On the other hand the natural food movement seem to have no concept of chemistry or that cyanide is in seeds and countless other examples including self induce diabetes and heart diasease being the biggest risk to society.

But since self reulation doesnt have money except through future confiscation through taxation of people who havent been born yet, the naturals go where the money is, not the peoblem. Its always about the money.

On the other hand, the government needs to get out of subsidies and food programs. Ag in general hates competition and voters should demand competition and regulation instead of the opposite, facism whichnis what we have now.

The Govt out to get out of a lot of things, and turn it all back to the people.
Maybe we'll get a solar flare that will take out our electrical grid and then we can all start over living back in the 1800's.
Sough dough Biscuits and salt pork, I'm ready.

It sounds to me that this is just for flavored milk or milk products like chocolate milk. I'm sure there has always been some sweetener in chocolate milk and much of the flavored yogurt. I don't know if it was aspartame though. I do have a problem with hiding the contents of milk. I'd think that would hurt the milk demand more than about anything. Milk has a good reputation for being healthy and I'd think the dairy industry would work hard to keep it that way and certainly not promote hiding additives to the milk. Something just doesn't make sense here.

The reason that this is an issue is that aspartame is not safe for everyone. Some individuals experience increased hunger from consuming aspartame. Also one of the chemicals used in its manufacture is methanol, an industrial alcohol that is unsafe for human consumption.

Its no safe for anyone.
I kept this article from years past.
I don't have any problem with ants in my tummy.

The World's best Ant Poison

From the June 2006 Idaho Observer:

Aspartame - The World's Best Ant Poison contributed by Jan Jensen of WELLthy Choices.

We live in the woods and carpenter ants are a huge problem. We have spent thousands of dollars
with Orkin and on ant poisons trying to keep them under control but nothing has helped. So
when I read somewhere that aspartame (Nutrasweet) was actually developed as an ant poison and
only changed to being considered non-poisonous after it was realized that a lot more money
could be made on it as a sweetener than as an ant poison, I decided to give it a try. I opened two
packets of aspartame sweetener, and dumped one in a corner of each of our bathrooms. That was
2 yrs ago and I have not seen any carpenter ants for about 9 - 12 months.

It works better than the most deadly poisons I have tried. Any time they show up again, I simply
dump another package of Nutrasweet in a corner, and they will be gone for a year or so again.
Since posting this information I have had many people tell me of their success solving ant
problems with this substance, when nothing else worked.

We found later that small black ants would not eat the aspartame. It was determined that if you
mixed it with apple juice, they would quickly take it back to the nest, and all would be dead
within 24 hours, usually. I have found that sometimes it will kill them, and sometimes it does
not. Not sure why, may be slightly different species of ants or something.

That article is a hoax unfortunately, aspartame was intended to be an anti ulcer medication until a scientist working on it accidentally tasted it.

I was heavy diet soda drinker, until a month ago, I quit all products that contained aspartame. So far, my health has improved and my dietary intake of food decreased by half. Also my cravings for sweets also came to an end. I will post more on this. I have found that I am one who has suffered from adverse effects of this sweetener. None of which I was warned about.

best ulcer antidote Ive ever used was a swallow of Canadian Lord Calvert every night for a week.
JD don't work for that.
Put the words aspartame in any search engine and you'll find out a lot of things.
I quit it 10 years ago

Not an issue. The amount would be so low it's ridiculous.

Detection alone is not proof of toxicity.

Coca cola by itself is toxic with or without artificial sweeteners.

I quit soft drinks a couple of years ago and feel a lot better.

Got a smaller belly too.
