Our first older cow to calve had twins last night. Bright and early this morning she was with one live calf, and this is the other one. Not sure if the calf was born alive, or not, but the coyotes made short work of making this calf look short. :x

Do night riders ever lament? :?

Love love that last photo.

But I gotta say soapweed......ridin a horse with the sticker still on it, is kinda like wearin a shirt that still has the price tag hangin offa the sleeve.
WD 40 usually will take those off with very little hair loss on the tail.

I've made a few rugs like that one too. Not exactly the same patterns of material.....but crochet'd outta strips of fabric. I really like em. One by the bed, one in front of the couch, they make good bathmats.....made a few for friends. She done a real nice job on it.

That mini will have his work cut out penning cows. Those are some nicer horses than we have at the horse auction here. I go sometime to pick up some tack.

That's pretty funny. Reminds me of the spring of 1984. My youngest sister was about ready to graduate from high school (she is married to the man who sold the horse), and my grandmother was not expected to live for very long. I figured I'd buy a new sport coat for the two dress-up occasions on the horizon. My sister graduated on a hot day in May. I toughed it out and wore the coat all the way through the graduation ceremony. Afterwards, we stood outside visiting and going through the receiving line offering congratulations to the new graduates. Later, as Peach and I were walking back to the pickup to go attend the first reception, I looked down to find the price tag still on my new coat.

It's hard to be cool when you aren't.  :-)

If you come up with a good enough name for the new horse, Jersey Lilly, I will use it.

Well Soapweed, in honor of the glue holdin that there salebarn tag in place, my vote for his name would be "Stickum"

That's what grandaddy always called it when he wanted some glue on somethin. "Gotta put some stickum on it"

I graduated in '84 also.

Stickum sounds like a good name. I could call him "Up" for short.

By the way, my brother-in-law's horse brought $1550 instead of the $1450 that I reported earlier.

Or.....you could call him "Stick" for short, then everyone can give Brady a hard time about ridin a "Stick horse"

Good looking pony you bought Soapweed. Does he "do" as pretty as he looks?

He resembles a horse I owned for 18 years and had to put down in 05, his name was Dollar Mite (buck). :D
He never quit me.

that really makes a guy appreciate his honda's that still cut cattle out the same as they did 20 years ago and have had 2 sets of shoes and very little grainenol.

What do you do with old wore out Hondas? Is there a slaughter plant, or do you have to euthanize them and dig a hole to bury them in?

When I got married my new wife wanted to know the name of the only horse I had at the time and I said he didn't have one - - - She said " That's Crazy" and so I said fine his name is Crazy and it stuck - - - very good horse I later traded as a partial payment on a 3 year old Quarter Stud.
