Austrailan fires!

I was reading about the massive wildfires burning in Austraila and sure hope all you all down under are alright. My thoughts and prayers go out to ya and all involved. The news said 108 were killed and lots of homes and property destroyed.

The death toll is up to 108 now. The article on Fox news said about half of Australia's 60,000 fires each year are deliberately set or suspicious. Some people have no respect for others.

I hope the U.S. sends some of our guys to help,as an ex wildland firefighter i've had the privelege to fight fire with some great Aussie crews,that came over and helped us.

I heard a smoke eater a while back say how the arsonists watch the weather reports just like everyone else....that way can start a big one burnin'. Some folks are truly depraved.

Hi all, thanks for thinking of us all over here, Leanin'H we aren't near the fires so you don't need to worry.
Some of the fires were by arson the other from Lighting strike. The death toll this arvo is up to 121 and there are still some fires not under control yet and threatning more towns. So, I just hope that with the 40oC plus heat wave we have had over the past 2 weeks behind us, the cooler weather will help the firefighters to get everything undercontrol. When the arsons are found and caught it is said that they will be charged with Murder.
It's hard to believe that the South Eastern part of Australia is suffering from horrific fires and the North East of Australia is suffering from large floods.
