Baler accident

Was reading some of the posts and sounds like everyone is started
to put up hay.
Learned this morning that a young 19 year old man was killed in a baler accident last night. Just graduated from high school 1 year ago this
spring, bought some equipment, and started a custom haying business.
He leaves behind his parents and a sister. VERY, VERY SAD DEAL.
 
It is a terribly sad deal, and our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Sparky's good old dog, Ringo, will be ten years old this coming December.
Sparky got his Blue Heeler from this young man's parents, and ten years ago when he went to look, this young boy and his sister crawled under the porch
to bring out the puppies to show.

Another sad incident took place over the week-end. On Sunday afternoon, a rancher from south of Alliance, Nebraska
was working on an irrigation system when he got electrocuted and killed.
 
I just about killed Ty in a farm accident when he was 5-I learnt my lesson then about being more careful. Was that 35 year old guy the pro steer wrestler-they had something about it on the prca website his name was Garret Clarkson.
 
Last friday while working on a brush hog it dropped on my foot . First time on my life I yelled for help and someone came. It was 96 degrees. Lucky for work boots.. The heat and my heart rate was as much as problem than the cut on my foot. Never work with machinery by yourself.
 
This business is dangerous. My heart goes out to the young man's family and community. I am sure the void in their hearts is heavy. Another reason to "Just Slow Down"! The work will be there tomorrow.

Hell if you did'nt work machinery by yourself nuthin would get done around here,Im very aware how dangerous farming can be,been alot of old geezers hurt/killed getting in a hurry tryin to get that last cut or bale before Mother Nature got wild,keeping a cell phone on your belt aint a bad idea.

I would be dead for sure had it not been for my cell phone. A cow got me down and beat me up really bad I don't know how long I would have been there without the cell phone.

Prayers go out to this young man's family I can't imagine the pain they are suffering with this kind of loss.

For heaven's sake, make sure noone gets near a baler if the pto is still running. This type of tragedy shouldn't happen. What a horrible and sad thing for those left to deal with the aftermath.
