What u wish for.............I posted the
Other day about bad weathermen, and needing rain, well it started Sun. About 2:30 and quit last night at around 11 with a grand total of 8.55 inches! Now 10 creek crossings, about 200feet of brand new continuous fence and one dam dike later we have some moisture......

I am a firm believer in the capitalist free enterprise system, but when it comes to the weather a little socialism and sharing of the wealth might be in order. We didn't get a drop of rain out of this latest weather system and the 60 percent chance of moisture that supposedly was in the cards. You would gladly have shared, no doubt.

farmboy where are you at, I'm 55 south of Mitchell we got 1.75" this Sunday we got .35" last Sunday 3 miles south of me nothing since mid June. I know they said on the radio south of Mt. Vernon got 8 plus as did somewhere between Mitchell & Parkston. Last year we had it bad [no rain] this year couldn't get it any better if you ordered it in.

Here at the house we ended up with about .80 over the weekend. 6 miles north, at our north place, there had to have been a couple or better. I am just stingy right now, and not sharing anything for another rain.

Old blood we r NW of winner, the storm cell over us was only about 25 miles wide, I would have gladly shared with all of you! Two would have been perfect, but we will take what we got, it likes to shut off around here in late July and August.

Was there damage to wheat in the area? We drove from Winner up to Presho last year in late June and saw lots of really good looking wheat, at least it was impressive to us as we were in a severe drought last year and it never even got green for more than a few days around here. And we don't raise wheat, so may have thought it was better than it was.

Too bad rain has to come like that all too often, with the damage often outweighing the good it does. Seems like it would be great to be able to maneuver such storms, yet if that were possible, it probably would be used in unfair ways by whomever controlled it. Best to leave it in current hands and pray for the best, trusting He will give us rain when we need it.

Very little damage to the wheat, lost some beans, every draw washed out, it laid down our new continuous fence pens a lot of work ahead of us but its better then being dry.
