This is about 50 miles from the mtns.

We took part in 'bear hair snare' a few yrs ago and got FWP results. They had about 3x more grizzlys they thought, between hiway 2 and hiway 200. 600 vs 200. based on dna.

This gentleman is evidently a pacifist.

and they caught their bear. Now I'm waiting for someone to ask Madel about culvert traps and if he knows anybody who got in one--alone--with sedated bear to take samples. And if maybe the trap 'tripped' and said bear guy had to cut not so sleepy for too much longers bear's throat with his pocket knife. or maybe that's a fantasy, like if you put a light bar on forest service guy's pickup, he becomes a cop...

He was awfully comfortable in a pasture where Lane will have Ewes and lambs next week.
