Best/Worst of Times

Training camp started for our AA Midget team today-I was watching the clock all day waiting to hit the rink to see what the prospects looklike on the ice. I'm assistant coaching this year-a real good hockey guy is going to head coach so it should be fun. The worst part comes Sunday when we have to tell 25 or so kids they're cut-the absolute worst job there is. the gratifying thing is seeing kids you've cut other years man up and play their way to the next level. For the size of town we are we put alot of kids in the show.

What ages are AA Midget? I like your take on being happy for kids that got cut go on and make good. MJ was cut by his jr high coach.

Midget is 15-17 year olds-there's a few kids from here on the bubble at AAA camps so we might get some kids coming back home yet. Our job is to develop players for the next level-maybe someday there will be one make the NHL which would be pretty sweet. My youngest daughter plays Atom which is 9-10 year olds-she is trying out for Tier One this year against the boys.
