OK, I know that is Montana's slogan. Ours is actually "Land of Living Skies". But most of my pictures don't depict that one ;-) . Here are some of those "you can see forever" pictures. Actually these first ones might show some of Montana (well almost)

These pictures always are nice to see.. We find it odd here because we are at the edge of the tallgrass prairie here and we have folks to the east of us comment on how little trees we have, how it is so flat and you can see forever... Than we have folks from Montana visit and they say the exact oposit about how many trees we have and (Well, they agree on the flatness, lol) and how they get kind of clausterphobic because they can't see forever becuase of the trees on the horizon.. Always interesting to get a different perspective..

I would be one of those claustraphobic ones  . Although, our yard is quite well treed, I only have to go out past the trees and then you can see forever.

Very nice pictures. I really like the excellent lightning shots that you captured. That is hard to do.

Thank you. I discovered just how hard they are to get. But we had some really long strikes, so that made it a bit easier. But it seemed I was never set up and ready for the really nice ones.

We can generally see pretty far.. Town is 4 miles away and we can see the water tower, I can see a wind farm that is maybe.. Oh gosh, a dozen miles away (Not sure exactly and you can barely see the he turbines) Mostly, if yo get on top of a hill you can see a long way... the trees tend to be bunched at homesites, areas that can't be farmed at river beds.. This area here wasn't too treed except along creek bottoms way back when as it burned too often or was to dry or too wet for a lot of different trees... Mostly we were a Big Bluesteam and a few other tallgrass prairie species that are slipping my mind.. Probably switchgrass as well..and some sandhill bluegrass.. Now we are all corn and you can see that for miles, lol.
