Cattlemen and dariys had a meeting with the Game and Fish department , the State Vet, and APHIS Monday night about bangs in elk and elk feedgrounds. They were working on a managment plan (BMAP) to lessen co mingling of cattle and elk from Feb 1st thru June 15th. Each ranch has the option of forming it own BMAP with APHIS. But it simply comes down to were I cross the State line every summer for grass I will have to bleed cows each and every year.
I know one rancher that been offered $10,000/acre for around 500 acres he runs, he also has a forest permit to summer 200 cows and calves from June to 1st of October. he got subdivision next to his place and his forest permit. Wyoming is a fence out state but these people won't built a fence, which leads to other problems.
Now the valgur part his neighbor has a pretty 160 acres in a long 90 degree valley that border his place on 2 sides one being between him and the forest. This is a small dariy farm has had people walk out in his field and offer to buy his place while he on a tractor. They listed the place $5 million for the 160 acres and people are looking .......The other guuy wish he taken the offer to him and he would 1031 out of this country....
Won't be many years till the Subdivision have me push out to with help from the State Vet....
