Boston

If your in a 18 wheeler watch out for low wires, one way streets and low bridges. And stay away from the waterfront <docks>area altogether!
I hear Don Cherry has a nice restaurant in Boston.

I'm not sure if they sell pizza there anymore either.

Thanks everyone ....I'm off to class Darn it was daylight at 4:50 scared me half to death I thought I woke up late

Hello everyone
Day 1 Maybe we can scratch this post
The only thing I got to see was a book or the big screen with the projector aimed at it. wew to much too fast hopefully a better day today
But i'll tell ya I sure love this cool weather 60s and 70s sure beats that Texas heat
:)

One place I really want to visit is the Union Oyster House, where Washington, Ben Franklin and John Adams ate, near Fanieul Hall .
Lots of interesting history to experience in Boston. Enjoy!

First time to Boston
does anyone know of any good placces to go see after hours. I am in class during the day.

Go find the "Cheers" Bar--the kid said he had a good time there when he was in Boston for the Eastern Rodeo finals a couple years ago- sounded like the ladies liked cowboys  ....Apparently there is also a bar called the Bull and Finch Pub that was used for the outside shots on the Cheers show.....

I've never been anywhere close to Boston, but OT's knowledge of this place or that one; reminds me of a fellow from Wyoming. His name was Wyoming Jack O'Brien. He was a dashing sort of fellow; tall, with white hair and a big white handlebar mustache.

He owned the Paradise Dude Ranch and he would make trips back east
to entice dudes to experience life at Paradise.

He drank some and was generally a good ole boy.

But the real treat
was to sit in front of him at the movie theater. With every shot of each
big town, he would tell you what city it was. Heck, for all we knew,
he could have been lying, but he sure had us fooled and we were
impressed with his knowledge. So we visited a lot of places that we
would not have realized without old Wyoming Jack telling us
where we were!!!!!!!!!! I don't think there ever was a city he didn't
recognize. He'd been to them all.

Thanks OT these city folks are killin me with their music and quite a few snobs i guess they don't trust each other or something
I waved at someone tuesday just as a friendly gesture and you would have thought I was waving a gun

Boston is a tough town... By that I mean, people are really not friendly. My folks lived there while my dad went to school before my brother and I were born. I visited once back in 92 for a college trip and hung around the Cambridge area, went to the Cheers bar (Tourist trap) and stuff like that. My brother lived there in 2001 while he was working at a hospital... It is not a warm and welcoming place... Neither is Phily or New York City IMO...

Always found Chicago to be real friendly for a big town.. But it still isn't like most country folks.

I am like you TmRoper....I did not find the citys real friendly. I went to a conference in Baltimore back when, now the city itself was immaculately clean...course I was comparing to other cities that I had seen. But, the people were snobby, heck if you asked directions? you would have thought they were pulling a thorn out of the umm..(ya know) to give an answer. Of course we pulled up in a pickup truck, we drove to make it a vacation, and it was a standard at that, so we even got a look from that too... LOL, the parking attendant got a kick out of our luggage, plastic sacks over our hanging clothes and even had our ice chest to take up to the room. Hmm..lol, I know them folks were saying dang what HICKS!! Of course I was laughing at them when they heard me talk, their jaws would drop and eyes bulge. Had one fella ask me, mam what country are you from?? lmao...then there were others that asked me to keep talking, like that was trick.

Anyway, how did the trip end up with you?? any really good stories??

Easty

Ya-know...it really depends on who you bump into. We were touring
around in New York City, twice lost, and each time somebody came up
to us as we studied the map and asked if we needed any help. They graciously took time to point us in the correct direction.
We hadn't even asked for help.

So you know- it just depends...
