Wow!!! What we would have given to be there....if only the hubby had not spent the previous day in the hospital!!! :( :( :( He is even more bummed than I am, so you can imagine!! Thanks for sharing the pix, though....at least we know what we missed....especially demodriver.....she thinks that "cousin and baseball buddies" should come on down this way and help out with our branding   Sheeeesh!! Teenagers!

My little girl, who should be in bed by the way, just walke dinto my office and over my mess and looked at the pictures and asked me when we were going to play wit the cows like that.....lol.. 3.5 years old, guessing she isn't quit ready..

Have given some thought to branding our calves, hearing enough about calf stealing that it makes me pause from time to time and wonder what recourse we have right now... Something to think about and something I have never done/been too... The hair on the hide actually ignites doesn't it? .. wonder what the cousins from Chicago would think about that.

Pic of the branding-pot was neat...very rarely do the red-hot embers show up like that on pictures...can almost feel the heat an' smell the smoke...

...good to know y'all can find help when ya need it...more and more outfits in this country have gone to the calf-table, rather than just ask around for help...

It's so good to see other brandings from other places...I hope this "old traditional" way of branding lasts forever. It's a piece of history that we can't lose...Thanks for sharing your pictures..sure enjoy em..
