I have posted information pertaining to raising/developing beef replacement/bred heifers.
Bessett & Kearney livestock sale barns are posting the highest average prices in the country at over $2200 per heifer.

Here was the Valentine Livestock Auction report for January 16, 2014.

The two top sets of bred heifers were:

Corky and Janet Worth - 18 head 1251 pounds at $2600

Charlie Stoner - 40 head 1051 pounds at $2650

Wow those are some good prices. The last sale in Napoleon heifers bring just shy of $2000 (weren't the elites but pretty good kind).
Cows did a fair bit better. Late bred cows (june/july) were probably 100-200 bucks higher. And by the way to temps are might be the only ones a person will keep from freezing ears and tails.
