my landlord and his family will be featured on Dr. Phil Thanksgiving day. thier boy broke his neck during a football game this fall. was a miracle the kid is still with us.....

I think it was two vertabra, and the swelling pinched the cord. in those deals it is millimeters from it being a lot worse. I guess he was moving his head after the accident, and the doctors about went nuts....thought he would cut the cord! his brace was too big or something.

kind of odd, you see these stories all over the nation, but when it hits close to home you takle notice....my wife was affraid to let our son play after hearing of this deal!

Yeah them docs go nuts if your moving your head after a neck injury. Should watch volunteer EMT reactions, even funnier.

That boy is sure lucky. Did they put him in a "halo"?
Yeah that cord is funny thing. Just did another refresher course and we covered head and neck injuries. Normally when you hear "broken neck" you immediately think paralizied, but that is not always the case, so that is why I asked.

I watched this today, hit pretty close to home :cry2:
