Any good names for this critter? We came up with the first name, I think he needs a middle and last name...sw had the idea to get a self standing tree stand up to get Buford on the wall. It took the tree stand plus another ladder but we got him up.

Getting on the tree stand (can't you just feel it shaking?)

Quite the deal, a little stressful, after a glass or two of champagne, we got over it :santa:

if the first name is buford, then there is only one logical full name

Buford T. Justice........... need a speech ballon by the elk saying, when I get off this wall, I am gonna go straight home and smack your momma in the mouth! sum bitches.

He does look majestic. You could call him King Buford, Prince Buford, Sir Buford, or His Royal Elkiness. sw, ya did good--both shootin' him and puttin' him up on the wall. Congratulations on both accounts.

So were not the only guys who name their deer or elk mounts-we have a buckenstein, a Tyrone, a Bucky. I'd just call that old warrior 'The Buford'. Did you mount him on a nail or a wood screw-the screws hold a bit better. Our deer mounts usually are omn a plaque so I can drill a screw in at the bottom to hold them stteadier-when we collect everything from the taxidermist I think we'll have 20 plus sets of horns in the house lol.

That goat ended up netting 82 5/8ths, the prong on the one side has a big chip in it so it had 3 1/2 inches of deductions. I had it measured by an official B&C scorer and he came up with 84 5/8ths. After pictures of it and the handshakes, he said oh yeah, I have to have this confirmed by a second official. Well it turned out that the first scorer can't add, he was off by 2 inches so instead of having the minimum 84 to go in the book, it is just short.
This bull is the same way, after the deductions for the broken tines at the top of the main beam, he falls clear down to 344. If you put in the broken tines with the same length as the other side, he goes 386. Guess I need to quit taking out the scrappers with the battle scars
