my semen tank was found dry and warm.  only held nitrogen for ten weeks, should have gone for twenty weeks. this was a new mve 20/20, and it had only been filled twice. lost $5,000 worth of semen. would cost more than that to replace it now. mve says that they can do nothing about the semen loss or the tank and that i would have to go through the dealer i bought it from. dealer issued a return number. said they would have to send it back to mve for them to test it and either repair the tank or replace it. there went my spring breeding program. does anybody use a low level alarm on their tanks? the neck of my tank never did freeze up or show evidence of loosing its vacum seal. sits on the front porch so we couldkeep an eye on it.

should have just bought a good bull!!

Just cuss a little. You'll feel better.

Ohhhhhhh, man, that is not good. I hope everything works out for you, and the company you purchased your semen tank from will make it right. There's more than $5,000 loss there, if you consider no AI replacement heifers and no AI bulls (if you keep any). That's just off the top of my head... Good Luck! :)

Were there any kids around-there's been a couple tank failures turned out to be kids playing then keeping Mum about it. That nitrogen evaporatring is pretty cool to watch. I keep my tanks inside and give them a lift every morning-don't feel bad I pulled probably 30 grand out of a guys tank last year-he just forgot to fill it.

Oh man......That is to bad.....Does anyone know if your farm or ranch insurance policy covers any of that??? I've gotten rid of all my spendy semen. And try and breed everythng I have... I would really complain and give em some heat........
