calf with cat eyes ?

I had a calf born on Sunday from a black heifer, I bought her with 4 other breds this fall , two have calved and had nice black calfs, then on sunday this heifer had hers, when she had it cleaned up it looked to be grey silver, ok , must have been a charlois bull, then today I was out there and the grey calf was lying down , and his eyes looked like they were blue, so i went for a closer look and they definitly looked diffrent, so i grabbed him and his eyes are a blueish grey color and they look just like cat eyes with the sideways slit ?? Has anyone seen this or was I just imaging things ?

it sounds like your calf is doing fine.congratulations.
but beware,and keep checking on him.

the experience that i had with a calf that was born"mentally impaired"had weird eyes,about half blind,and would wander around looking at the sky.
i wrote it off as just another farm mystery.but sincerely,,good luck and hope he makes u some money!

If you click on that link I posted you'll see pictures. The one that is mine...is still in our herd...her eyes got darker can't tell anything was different about her now. And she had her first calf last spring.

Yes it looks exactly like those eyes, he seems to be normal so far Thanks for the responses

Brand inspecting has given me the opportunity to see some strange things, and I've seen several calves with eyes like this, all were normal, healthy and real head-turners. :wink:

your calf's parents must both be CE carriers.

there just maybe be a goat in the woodpile , I know nothing about the dam or the sire, she was a bred black heifer that i bought for $400 this fall. I sure wish i would have picked up more at that price, as the last sale I was at two weeks ago 5 year old bred cows were bringing $950
