Vigortone has BioMoss as well. It is a good product, but our customers

still use the CTC with the BioMoss. Vigortone's BioMoss product is

not anywhere close to Cargill's price, even WITH CTC.

BioMoss will definitely be a hot topic IF and when we lose antibiotics.

Til then, it is available but not the most popular seller right now UNLESS

you are in a hot area for scours. Ranchers have used it with much

success in the Augusta area of Montana where scours were rampant,

and Vigortone mineral with BioMoss and CTC has become the mineral of choice in that area.

We used it here one year, because we don't want to sell something we

have not tried ourselves. We had 100% calf crop that year and didn't treat a calf.

'Course we had 100% calf crop the next year too without any sickness, when we didn't use it.

You feed it to the cow 15-30 days before calving and keep it out

for a period after she calves. Mostly what is important is the calf

gets good quality colostrum. That's where the enhanced immune

system comes from...good colostrum. Young calves will eat mineral

if they can get to it. Our customers report calves eat more than the

cows at certain times. YIPPEE, that's a bonus.

Biomoss works good for dairies where there is a scour problem and they

don't want to use antibiotics if they can help it. I believe that is what

it was first designed for...dairies.  In layman's terms

the scour bacteria attaches itself to the protein in the gut and is

passed out the rear end of the cattle.

Just so you know, Vigortone has been in the mineral business much

longer than Cargill.

Any other questions I could help you with?

Good luck!
