CBS Upset Pick Of The Week

JERRY PALM: UCLA (+4) over Nebraska : In last year's game, which was played at UCLA, the Bruins ran roughshod over Nebraska's defense for 653 yards in a 36-30 victory. After giving up 34 points to Wyoming in the opener, it doesn't look like the famed Black (and Blue?) shirt defense has fixed its problems. UCLA is coming off a bye week and playing with a heavy heart after the death of Nick Pasquale this week. You never know how something like that will affect a team.

We'll see.

Is it an upset if the team picked is ranked 7 spots higher than their opponent?

Must be because Nebraska is favored to win. The only ranking that matters is the last one of the season.

Looks like this CBS guy may have gotten it right. 38-21 in the 4th Qtr.

Wasn't the score 21 - 3 Huskers leading in the first half ?

Sure was 21-3, how did ya guess that one.(like you couldn't look it up and you probably were watching) Its people like you that post stupid shirt like that on here just trying to stir the pot that piss me off. Hey everybody Nebraska(23) lost to UCLA(16).

That was a pathetic loss. I am one to stick with my team(coaches and players both) through the thick and thin, but something has to happen. I have stood up for Pelini all along, but the ice is getting thin. For a being a "defensive guru" it sure dont show. And for our quarterback, I have seen chickens with there heads cut of run better and look better than that performance.

No, I didn't start watching it until the 3rd quarter. You can get pi$$ed all you want. I don't care and it won't change the game outcome..

Hey mike, it will be ok. I will guarantee you one thing though, Nebraska won't searching for people to buy their tickets! 328 consecutive sellouts and counting!

I watched the first half and thought Nebraskas D looked pretty good. I was pretty surprised when I turned it on to check the score in was in the fourth quarter and UCLA was on cruise control. I have a question about the consecutive sell outs. They showed the sign 328 a few times, and it looked like the level right about the sign was half empty???

I dont know which seats for sure you are refering to but I am guessing them are the club seats, where you have to buy the box and you have seats in side and out. Now the seats on top of the new boxes do have more space being there is a handrail in front of each row. Trust me if there was any seats in the house empty there wouldn't be required "Donation", to get your name on the season ticket waiting list and a required "Donation" along with your season ticket price. Our tickets are in my grandmas name still and have been in the family for over 50 years. I dread the day that we have to transfer them to my name.

I did happen to find my way to Manhattan last weekend though for a friends bacholer party and we had 20 tickets in one section and there were only 11 of us and there was still room for at least 20 or if not more around us. My friend informed me that during there new "expansion" they removed 5000 seats.

Probably be worthless by then basing the worth on the direction the program is going.

Big Muddy is right.... corporate grease keeps that streak going...

I missed the game, but got plenty of texts to tell me Big red was sinking... called a cousin after the game to see what happened... he thinks Bo and Beck need fired. said Martinez was in a boot after the game...so if he is hurt so bad, why not put in QB #2???

I love seeing NU choke... cause their fans get wound up tighter than an 8 day clock....even EatBeef had no excuse for the husker pathetic showing so he had to spout off about KSU.... weak sauce man, ...weak sauce

Sometime when a "Sellout" is reported the seats aren't full because some corporation has bought a block of seats but doesn't have bodies to fill them. :?

Yep oldest trick in the book. Sell them at a discount just to move the tickets.

Have any of you every been to Lincoln to a game? Sign me up for them "empty seats" I could use another set of season tickets. You cant get a season ticket. How many of you would pay a "donation" of around $500 to get on a waiting list? The more you pay the more you move up. How many would pay a "donation" of 500 to 1500 along with your season ticket price?

Ya Nebraska is in a slump. Oh ya, we lost to a 16 rated team and we were 23rd. Hell Jigs according to you Kansas State is the best thing since sliced bread, why was there empty seats last week? Nobody care? or what? And weak sauce? Kinda like the pot calling the kettle black.

no idea, perhaps those people decided to stay in the parking lot and drink...that happens a lot... I have done it myself....I never claimed KSU to be that, just love and support my Cats...I have to work harder to support them due to the Husker bandwagon fans who want to ignore the lack of a future that they have by trying to live in the past when they dominated and KSU sucked..... simple point, I enjoyed watching NU in the 80's / early 90's but their fans were the biggest a$$holes ever...

Mike....in Lincoln, that's utter bullish!t. Kennedy was President the last time there wasn't a sell out at Memorial Stadium.

Any haters care to explain the nation leading 300+ Academic All-Americans....or is the "fix" in on that, too?
