The Rapid City Journal (a SD major newspaper) started a series of four articles on the shortage of women in leadership in politics, business, etc. in our state this week.

The March 17 edition features 'our own' Liberty Bell.

There is a nicely done story by Kevin Wooster about her ranch life in remote Harding county, and her life as a legislator in Pierre during the session. It is all interesting and hopefully will inspire more women to be more active in areas of our society truly needing more PEOPLE, as well as women.

Congratulations, LB!

Congratulations, Liberty Belle. I know you don't have an easy job, but you knew that going in...and it never stopped you.

We are proud of you!!

Thanks mrj for telling us about this!!

(and I wanted a 'tip of the hat' emoticon and I can't get them to transfer to here. What am I doing wrong? Never had trouble before. :???: )

:tiphat: Nice job, LB................. 8)

..........FH, worked for me & I ain't doin anything special :???:did the icons go down to your toolbar?

Thanks for all your nice comments. I really appreciate them… and you!!!

The Rapid City Journal story only appeared in the print edition. The slide show the nice young photographer from the Journal, Seth McConnell, put together is online and, if I've got this right, you should be able to view it here: http://www.rapidcityjournal.com/pages/slideshows/29/

mrj, the old house you'll see that is falling in was where Claude Olson grew up and it was the original K/O.

L.B., the video is fun to watch. Always seems like those things are too short. Looked like a pretty day, and good to see Claudes' old dugout.

Almost like taking a ranch tour, which we love to do. Must be great to have your granddaughter there, enjoying riding, and the ranch life. I may get envious of that. Our older three grand-girls all want 'town' jobs this year, so don't know as I'll see them much.

And don't forget to mention that she's way, way purdier and smarter than Nancy Pelosi! :D

Congratulations LB! We're proud of you here at our house.

I just got an email from a friend with the link to the story in the Rapid City Journal.

As far as I knew, it was only going to be in the print edition but if this works you can read it online here: http://www.rapidcityjournal.com/articles/2008/03/20/news/top/doc47ddb7285f312392807651.txt

Thanks for all your kind comments!
