Did any of you get to the Chase Hawks Roughstock in Billings? We try to regularly- and had it planned this year- until one of the young gals that Grandma works with at the Hospital had emergency surgery and it fouled up her schedule for getting off of being on call.....

If you haven't heard of it-- its considered the 11th round of the NFR- in the roughstock events...Contracters bring some of the top horses-and the top NFR cowboys show up--and the proceeds all go to CHARITY....
Usually held the Sat just prior to Christmas.....

Would have loved to see Marvin Garrett on Grated Coconut....
------------------------------------------

NOTES: The bull riders started 0 for 7 before Fred Boettcher notched a 76-point ride. ... Seven-time world champion Dan Mortensen placed fifth in the saddle bronc riding with 79.5 points. He received a standing ovation from some in the crowd, while others booed when the score was announced. After sitting out most of 2007, Mortensen is competing full-time again for 2008. ... Four-time world champion Marvin Garrett took a nasty fall off bareback horse Grated Coconut and was motionless on the arena floor for a few minutes. He was helped out of the arena and recovered nicely, later walking around the bucking chutes while sipping a cup of coffee. ... The increasingly popular event drew cowboys from three countries - United States, Canada and Australia - and 19 states.

Must have been some tough saddle broncs.........the no scores have some of the best hands in the business either being BO's or disqualified!!

Well from the times I've been there-- they usually have everything the Kesslers and Canuck producers had at the Finals...They just rest them a day or two in Billings on the way north  Also Sankey always brings his plus several of the other top producers....
Usually any stock going home from Vegas by going north shows up there...

The way Rod Hay was riding at the finals- I'd like to know what brought him down.. :???:
