They just rolled a semi of horses on the DeerFoot Trail in Calgary. The ones out of the trailer are grazing on the median with a bunch of firefighters around them. Hopefully he wasn't loaded too full. So far the reporter onsite has only said he saw harnesses (halters) and a bucket of oats.

Roll overs of livestock is always such a sad scene. Hope all is well for human and equines alike.

40 "young" horses on board. 12 dead or euthanized. The rest hauled a short distance to a pasture to recover. Deerfoot shut down all morning, not that it would be any different than if it was open. I have heard a couple of different reports on the numbers, each reporter counts a little differently.

Ewwww,not good...we had to fix a flat tire on Deerfoot once with a loaded horse-stock trailer,had to pull the horses out on to Deerfoot....Them Calgarians can get cranky if one holds up their traffic :shock: :wink:


Sad though,wonder who the horses belonged too??

Twelve sure isn't good but it could of been worse-I wonder how it happened-it looks fairly flat there.

Not sure what happened, but that driver is in a lot of trouble!!!.
No insurance, no class 1 license ect.. I can't remember all the charges against him :roll: :?
