checking heifers

Driving out to find heifers.

Hard to find in all this grass. There they are.

Now they are all getting up.

Thats it girls.... now all line up real pretty.

There are two baby calves in there. Teen pregnancies. Heifers were 14 to 15 months old. Heck breed them, then wean them!

Wow. Now that's grass country. And your cattle are such a deep
shade of red. Their hair coat is awesome. What makes them that color? The breed, the grass,
the mineral? Thanks for the pictures.

I've got to stop and seeing those Gertie cows some day-it's hard to believe for some but a tich of ear even works in cattle up here.

Faster Horses. Like NR said, they are Gerts.... anywhere from 1/2 to purebred. Dark cherry red is their colour.

BMR. I have never seen the grass like this before. Pastures usually start running dry and crisp about this time of year and this year it looks basically ungrazed.
