Last week 2 area men were tragically killed while unloading hay after the funeral yesterday I was hopeing that would do it for awhile.I just got a call a closer friend was killed in a Logging accident last night.I sit here remebering the good times I've had with all three most of it was while we were working somewhere as this area trade's alot of help back and forth. Not much matter's in the daily life once you sit at a funeral and see the families that have lost so greatly. All I can say is God got himself some of the best men he'll see in awhile.Slow down and cherish what really matter's Family and Friend's both of which we seem to forget in this fast paced life.Rest in Peace my friend's.

sorry to hear that Denny, you've had a tough week, glad you have some happy times to remember your friends with....

Denny, those were awful nice words you said about your friends. My heart goes out to you. And you're right, a person's true friends are irreplaceable, and as such should be cherished.

Denny,I have no idea how I would or could handle losing three friends so close together,my heart hurts for you!!

Take care Of Yer Friends

Friend is a word that I don't throw around
Though it's used and abused, I still like the sound.
I save it for people who've done right by me
And I know I can count on if ever need be.

Some of my friends drive big limousines
Own ranches and banks and visit with queens.
And some of my friends are up to their neck
In overdue notes and can't write a check.

They're singers or ropers or writers of prose
And others, God bless 'em, can't blow their own nose!
I guess bein' friends don't have nothin' to do
With talent or money or knowin' who's who.

It's a comf'terbul feelin' When you don't have to care
'Bout choosin' your words or bein' quite fair
'Cause friends'll just listen and let go on by
Those words you don't mean and not bat an eye.

It makes a friend happy to see your success.
They're proud of yer good side and forgive all the rest
And that ain't so easy, all of the time,
Sometimes I get crazy and seem to go blind!

Yer friend just might have to take you on home
Or remind you sometime that you're not alone.
Or ever so genfiy pull you back to the ground
When you think you can fly with no one around.

A hug or a shake, whichever seems right
Is the high point of givin', I'll tell ya tonight,
All worldly riches and tributes of men
Can't hold a candle to the worth of a friend.

Sorry to hear that Denny. Stuff happens that we are not meant to understand. Can't be too careful out there.

Mrs Greg, thank you for posting that Baxter Black. One of Baxter's best.

Not much more I can add Denny other than let this be a wake up call to us all. Be careful at work and play and make sure you know that you priorities are in order.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your friends Denny.
Mrs Greg, that poem says a lot to me today even though I have heard it many times. I hope an old school mate of mine who checks in here now and then gets the same message from it.

Sorry Denny. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and the families of your friends that have died such tragic deaths.

Thanks for posting Baxter Black's poem, Mrs. Greg. It is very profound.
