That utube might not have been racist but some of the comments about it were. I happen to like fried chicken a lot and watermelon too. I guess it is because raised both and ate both while I was growing up I am a little particular about watermelon. I guess you get that way when you grow them and can take a steak knife, cut it open, and if you don't like it go to the next one---yes it was our watermelon patch, and yes, there is a better and a worse way to grow them. Too much nitrogen and they don't seem to sugar out as well. Cut them the wrong time and yes, they just aren't perfectly ripe.
I would be pretty upset too if I saw a commercial about a special and then the retailer didn't have enough of the product on hand to serve the expected demand. It would show me someone doesn't have their business model down and probably can't be trusted. Probably not so good for business.
Black people liking fried chicken and watermelon is a stereotype, not racism, but some of the people commenting did cross the line to racism. Either way, I am as white as rice, and I don't want my chicken and watermelon taken from my menu selections (or rice either, come to think of it). It just wouldn't be Southern.
Don't try to take my steak or beef away either. That steak knife does have more than one use. It can keep unwanted hands away from your plate.
