After reading some of the posts here tonight in regard to land clearing I felt it should be mentioned that Sate and Federal Gov. is getting tougher on issues such as clearing.  There are new guidelines to follow in regard to NPS pollution, and ETS wildlife.   Please check with your local DNR office for their recomendations on Best Management Practices, as a few minutes spent doing so may save you from fines and such.
