Do you believe in it or not. I know some of you guys in the Northern Country have said the birds are not leaving for the winter and the droughts we are getting are getting worst than they use to be. I remember when I was a kid we use to always get ran out of the hay fields every afternoon from a small rain and we don't get those at all now. A lot of the big trees seem to be dying for no reason now. We are now getting grasses that we have never seen here. This goes on and on at the things that are changing around here. What are some of the things you have notice in the past few years?

I was wondering....

When the hell is spring coming??

EVER??!!??!?!!!

This e-mail I got from one of the in-laws sums it up quite well....Temp is 17 with a bitter 25 mph east wind-- and the weather boys are predicting a snowstorm Tuesday- followed by another arctic front and temps dropping down to 10-15 Below again....
Altho they're not supposed to start calving til the 7th- I think I'll lot the heifers tomorrow- and tell the old girls (that should be a week later) to cross their legs....

Sure there is climate change. Always has been and always will be. When I was in grade 5, we were taught that we were in the early stages of another ice age. I could almost see our farm getting gouged off the face of the earth with a wall of ice creeping down from the north. Didn't happen yet, although there is some evidence that the earth's temp. is gradually dropping, contrary to what the warming crowd says.

But there has always been climate variability. And that has been going on for a long, long time before we started burning fossil fuels. Those who say that we are in any way responsible for climate change have either huge ego or insecurity issues. Humanity is really not that significant in the big picture, at least not materially.

One thing that contributes to our inaccurate conclusions is our short-term views and experience of natural and meteorological events.

I'll bite. I firmly believe that warming is happening and have a stack of papers on it if anyone wants to read them. We are planning for the results which I think will be increased variability in our climate at a local level.
