College Football Has Changed - Bigtime

A-Aron Torres needs to check his facts a little better. Back in the day, and by that I mean 70's, 80's, & 90's, you could count on Nebraska being on TV twice a season, the Oklahoma game & a bowl game. If you were real lucky, one other game MIGHT be televised. That's a far cry from being on TV every week.

All these so called sports geniuses are put off now because the didn't see Eichorst hiring Coach Riley. It caught almost everyone flat footed, especially when they discover that the man did more with less than most anybody. I think there are high schools spending more on their football programs than Oregon State, and no doubt have better facilities than you will find in Corvallis.

Bo's ship has sailed. He's gone, and the only person he can blame is himself. Both daughters heard the same story in Lincoln, so there should be at least a little truth to it. Bo's demeanor on the sidelines and with the referees already had him on VERY thin ice. The shellacking by Wisconsin and the loss to Minnesota was it. Bo was called in and told to fire Beck (OC) and Papuchis (DC). Bo flat out refused, (thinking he was untouchable, who would they get to replace HIM?) and Bo was promptly shown the door. Too loyal, I guess. This has been in the works for a while, and when he blew his last chance, it was game on.

Guys like this Torres character are probably far more knowledgeable about Nintendo than Nebraska football.....

Yes, the dynamics have changed. What I said was the author needs to check his facts a little better. I'll bet I've got a pair of Paul Bond's older than he is.

College football has changed.....FOR THE WORSE!!! When a historical rivalry like BYU-Utah is destroyed because Utah chases the millions offered by the pac12 something is wrong. When Texas A&M leaves its historical rivals for the zillions offered by the SEC something is wrong. Rivalries are what built college football. That's why all the passion between Nebraska and K-State fans. Oh and guess why they are no longer in the same conference? You got it, MONEY. Money is great but passion fills stadiums and makes boosters donate. In my humble opinion, college football is fast losing what made it amazing! Imagine when Auburn bolts to the Big12 for a few trazillions bucks. Who needs the Iron bowl? :? But the money is sure good.

I think I read that there are only 21 colleges that are in the black in all athletics. The rest of the money is donated by the boosters. Smaller schools won't stand a chance.

Don't worry about Auburn going to the Big 12. Ain't going to happen.

I think there should be a limit on coaches salaries.

no, Nebraska bolted because they had better educational opportunities, and they just HAD to take that advantage... but shortly after they moved to the Big 10, they LOST their AAU rating !!! LOL....
