On to the top 20 most profitable football teams in the country.

1. Texas $92 million
2. Tennessee $70 million
3. LSU $58 million
4. Michigan $56 million
5. Notre Dame $54 million
6. Georgia $50 million
6. Ohio State $50 million
8. Oklahoma $48 million
9. Auburn $47 million
10. Alabama $46 million
11. Oregon $40 million
12. Florida State $39 million
13. Arkansas $38 million
13. Washington $38 million

15. Texas A&M $37 million

If you want to see the revenue numbers, check out Forbes. But, needless to say, these profit margins are staggering. Tennessee made $70 million in football profit off of revenue of $94 million. That's insane.




By conference there are 9 SEC schools, 4 Big Ten, 3 Pac 12, 2 Big 12, 1 ACC school and 1 independent school in the top 20.




Or another way of looking at it -- all of college football combined has 11 of the most profitable teams in the country and the SEC by itself has nine.

I heard they're still paying off attorneys, bail bondsmen, witnesses, court fines, and some players from years ago. :lol:

They probably need to go up on stadium ticket prices but they'd rather have a full house and lose money than to have a few empty seats.

It's an illogical tradition thing. SMH They do everything opposite of how Texas does things. (I guess you can tell from the moneymaker's list above.)
 
Football revenue picks up the entire tab for all sports at Nebraska. How many of these other schools are doing that? Things will look a little more favorable once we begin to get a full share of the B1G revenue.

Those ESECPN schools need all that dough to keep paying off the lawyers, the LEO's, and paying bribes for all the NCAA investigations they go through. It ain't cheap being a Thug.

You might call the University Bookstore in Hooterville. Mike. They should have an inexhaustible supply of asscream to help with your butthurt.
 
I heard Huckster girls volleyball picks up the tab for the football deficit. Ya'll need to get your stories straight.

How are the Men's Ping Pong & Jacks teams doing? You ever played Jacks before? It can be quite a spectator sport!!!!!! Ya'll should be good at that with all those brute athletes..................lol
 
My stories are straight. Has the Thug conference ever had an athlete graduate that his school wasn't under an NCAA investigation of some kind during their tenure as a student?

Sounds like you need industrial strength asscream to soothe that butthurt.
 
I didn't realize Nebraska was still getting a partial share of the revenue pie. How the hell is UT leading the country? With the 5th best program in the state?
 
I'm not sure if we begin to get our full share in 2016 or if it's 2017.

Did you catch the interview with Coach Cook and some of the girls in Omaha, where they described how Texas VB traveled? I came away with the conclusion that they thought Texas was a bunch of rich, arrogant, spoiled ash divas who imagined that nothing was too good for them. Our girls were having a hard time believing all the perks Texas required.

Maybe UT is just raking in the dough from all the profits the Longhorn Network is generating...even though no one has ever been able to tune into it on any antenna, cable, fiber optic, internet, or satellite system known to man?
 
I've seen the Longhorn channel while flipping through Dish Network. The LH channel Is an ingenious idea, but they have more than one channel, I think 3 or 4. One is for the football & basketball recruits still in high school to watch themselves on TV. Lots of high school ball on that channel.

One channel must be for girl's sports only cause that's all I ever see on it.

They can't be making money on the tv stuff because the advertising is so cheap. It's a long range thing, and as you can see they have plenty of money....................

Texas will be back on top before the Hucksters cause they will spend money on coaches while the Hucksters are looking for cheap & nice, which don't go far now.
 
Spending all kinds of money on the volleyball team sure didn't get Texas the prize this year. It still falls to the athletes to deliver, no matter the sport or the salary the head coach draws.

I've only found it on one channel. May just be missing the others. ESPN lost over 40 million on the Longhorn channel in 2015 and has to bundle it with other pkgs. to even get anyone to accept it. Meanwhile the SEC network continues to make huge profits.
 
That's what I hear - ESPN is losing buckets on lhn. the sec net is the blueprint. A lot of good FB teams and millions of sec FB/nascar fans (nobody said hillbilly) drive that sec net with cash.
 
NCCA won't allow the LHN to broadcast high school games of their recruits. High school ball is huge there. HUGE!!!!

They had megabucks lined up for advertising....................
 
LHN was also counting on the other schools in the Big 12-2 to buy into it and have some of their games boardcast but turns out none of them would be that big of a suck up to Texas.
