I received this in my inbox this morning from the AQHA:
Introduction:
The American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) coined the term "unwanted horse" as: "Horses which are no longer wanted by their current owner because they are old, injured, sick, unmanageable, or fail to meet their owner's expectations." (Source: UHC, Lenz PP 2006)
We are interested in your opinions about the unwanted horse in Colorado. Please take a few minutes of your time to fill out the survey at:
http://www.zoomerang.com/survey.zgi?p=WEB227EKUA4AJ5
This information is critical for our state industry professionals and those interested in the unwanted horse to work together to provide policy, program and project recommendations to find humane solutions to manage unwanted horses.
Your opinion counts. Not all questions will be relevant to your areas of knowledge or expertise -- some questions may be difficult to answer. Go with your gut response. There are no wrong answers; this survey measures awareness and perception.
Survey responses will be compared with empirical data collected from many sources to balance the subjective input with objective measures. Final reports will combine both types of data and will be further supported with findings from interviews and focus groups.
Thank you for your support to help address the issue of unwanted horses.
The survey posting will expire on
March 10, 2008.
The survey system allows only one submission from each computer. If you have any questions about the survey, need to duplicate or distribute it please contact us at:
