I'm on dialup so didn't watch the video...

is that COMANCHE "the brave horse" the song?

if so it's a Johnny Horton tune.

I had a Doc appointment this afternoon- and after it was done, I stopped at the Waterhole to get a haircut at the adjoining Barber shop and since I ain't had a whiskey in 2 weeks-- just as I walked in the door someone was playing that song as a long selection of golden oldies they'd selected on the Jukebox....Just had to stay a while longer til they all played off...

Were you able to fix the whiskey problem ?
good luck

Cody it was Johhnny Horton singing the song. I grew up on his music, so I should know it.
Rather interesting fact is Comanche belonged to Major Keogh and not Custer as everyone believes.

Got a cousin who protrays Custer during the Big Horn Days in Hardin, MT. He does the re-inactment at the site near the battlefield.

Not only did we take care of that- we solved half the worlds problems...

Reading some of the comments, it was interesting, disappointing, but no surprise that so many people believed the song was a tribute to Custer, not to the horse, Comanche.

Similarly, many won't admit the Indians killed with joyful abandon, whites and even other tribes of Indians, in prior years/era's, including practicing genocide when it was convenient. Of course, that history is probably quite 'sanitized' in accounts available today.

Simalarly, and sadly, people with various social problems and burdens cannot overcome them until they stop blaming others; the various races experiencing problems today cannot overcome them and their own and others' racism other societal ills until they stop blaming and start taking responsibility for their own actions and circumstances TODAY.

Years of a government sponsored "Apartheid" policy did little for incorporating Indians into general society....
