Combie demolishion derby

Folks I have never even heard of this till today. I was searching out demolishion derby and this camr up with it. Has anyone ever seen this?Seems like a waste of combines to me, but, I dont know what the purse was.

I've seen this on TV. I think the combines are worth just junk price so there isn't much $$$ involved. But the son just took an old New Holland to the scrap yard and he was amazed how much that thing weighed. He got a good chunk of change.

Yup they have them up here too. Not a waste combines any more than a demolition derby is a waste of cars. These old threshers are past their prime and going to the derby adds one more year to their lives.

We actually entered a couple of times back in the 80's. What a blast!!!! Never won, but we were close. We still have the old clunker here in the bush.

We used to have them with the County Fair... Haven't had them in a lot of years- but I think thats because most the smaller farms that used to always have an old combine sitting around sold out or are leased to just a few large 20,000+ acre corporate farms- that use brand new stuff that they either lease or trade in every couple of years.......

They were a lot of fun to watch...Now with the demo derby they have lawn mower races...Which were fun the first year or two with locals fixing up their own machines- but now its turned almost semi pro with groups building fleets of them and following a circuit racing them ....

Yeah, we had one at our County Fair a couple of years ago, and it was a success.
