This link is to a tv program about a man named Ewan Campbell and his company, Probitas. He uses natural soil amendments based on the Dr. Albrecht methods of soil balancing. For those who don't know, Dr. William A. Albrecht was the head soil scientist at the U of Missourri in the 50's. His work is world reknowned for it's benefits to soil health and nutrient dense food production.
Anyway, Ewan Campbell - a farmer himself - started this Probitas company to assist other farmers who had requested his help in balancing theirown soils. The New Zealand Commerce Commission, then proceded to conduct this witch hunt, which is what 60minutes tries to shed some light on. For the record, I've met Ewan Campbell, and firmly believe that what he's done is nothing more than consulting fellow farmers to HELP them figure out what is no more than basic chemistry/biology - soil health.
