These cotton plants should be about 4-5 feet tall and thick enough to have complete ground shade before the blooms come on. Having applied 100 units of nitrogen does no good without water.
Yikes.. Mother nature can be a bit cruel sometimes when it decides not rain. Doesn't matter if you did everything perfect, with no moisture you might aw well not planted a darn thing.. Reminds me of some of the bean fields we had two years ago, never canopied, needless to say, yields were not very good.
