Curious

I was told that two cows bred on the same day could have calves two weeks apart. One a week early one a week late of due date. So during calving hard to tell I think.

We consider the breeding cycle to be 21 days, heifers and cows. When Dad used to AI he found that heifers may go into a false heat at 17 days, but would never catch. At 21 days they would do it again and would catch.
I know sometimes you see heifers standing in a false heat, and the bulls will ignore them. In a few days they are at it again and suddenly the bulls are interested.

I've always gone with 21 days but have heard some mention 17, such as breeding heifers for 35 days instead of 42.

So if you bred your hfrs for 60 days would you have a 30 day cycle?

90=45
120=60 :wink: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

You'd have almost 3 21's or 4.5 17's. :wink:
