an old feed sleigh. Winter feeding would have been a challenge years ago in the hills!

Thanks for sharing, El :!: Love to see good cow country :!: Next time, let's see ya without the sun glasses  You look too mysterious  Good pony there, and how old is your son? Looks like a potentially good cowboy to me :!:

BTW, love your cows!! Can't beat the Gelbvieh breed :!:

Where's your snow? Or was this before the snow? We're still all white...

I used to travel thru your country lots when I was going to college in Havre- heading north to the Canuck rodeos...And it is beautiful cow country.....

You should salvage the iron out of that old sleigh and make a new one. You know the Pfeiffer's and the Hogg's at Elkwater-I've bought alot of heifers from them and sold them alot of A'I stuff over the years. I'm thinking I haven't been far from your door by the looks of things.

thanks all. Theses pics were taken last sarturday. Good thing we gathered there on saturday as winter really set in on Sunday. We had originally scheduled to take them out the week before but had a couple of inches of snow then. On sunday we gathered out in the Suffield area, boy it was cold and miserable. I took my camera but was too focused on keeping warm and trying to trail stubborn cows a snow storm to take pictures.

The elevation on the bench of the Cypress Hills is about the same as the town of Banf so we have short season. Interestingly this is the area Sitting Bull fled to after Little Big Horn and the seen of the last indian massacre.

N.R the Hoggs are on the north slope of the hills about 6 miles north of our land. I know the Pfiefers as well (also on the north slope).

My son is 18 months and an absolute terrorist (takes after his mother LOL)
The sunglasses hanta are to stop the paint glare.

They both have brought heifers into our local pen show and I was impressed with the quality as well. I believe craig runs sim-angus.

NR what do you thing of the numbers of females being marketed this fall. I looked in the last western depressor and saw swift current and perlich both had 5000+.

Ohh I hadn't given it alot of thought to be honest. There's always alot of cows traded around-each herd dispersal shortens numbers a bit because more cows are culled out.
