Good Morning,
Taking a look across the Northern Plains, we had a few t-storms go through last night, but not enough to stop the drought conditions, well another round will develop again later today and push through the Dakota's and Nebraska, but again it wont stop the drought.
Drought Thoughts: Right now with the summer pattern in full swing across the Plains, minus the heat but we will bring that back after the 4th. This pattern favors only cold fronts with fast moving t-storms, which for the most part will create lower rainfall totals, so the drought over the Dakota's will pretty much last through the summer. As mentioned before, look for the heat to start building back in after the 4th, we could again see temps in the 100-105F range across parts of the Dakota's and Nebraska, Kansas.
