Thanks Lilly...you've been there to critique my photo's and I appreciate it.

Yesterday we visited the 1800's Town in South Dakota..It's a historical town, with original buildings and artifacts. It also is the home of hundreds of movie props from Dances With Wolves...This is Cisco, the horse that Kevin rode for most of the film. He is 31yrs now, and recives special care from the State Vet...who is a friend of ours. Not bad looking for so old.

Oh No!!!! Don't let Dad see this or Im gonna get stuck trucking and thrashing... which is illegal since i dont have my drivers license yet lol) and he'll hafta go see this... yike!!!! lol.

The 1880's Town is an interesting place to visit. I was there a year ago, but was very disappointed to see the deplorable condition of the roof that covered the round building where all the Dances With Wolves memorabilia is displayed. Even though we are living in a droughty country right now, someday that condition will change. When the time comes that rain or snow decides to fall, that old leaky roof will cause a lot of irreplaceable collectible paraphernalia to get ruined.

I agree Soapweed, this town has a wonderful display of old buildings and artifacts, but the buildings need some work so they won't fall apart. It still is a great place to relive the old west though.

Just adding to this thread....
Anyone know of really good old historic towns to visit in MT?

A good old time town to visit is Nevada City in MT, close to ranchwife. Most of the original buildings restored, and good stuff inside - all restored stuff and set up as if we were there at that time. Just good, plain history. Virginia City, is another old time town, but all the shops are open to tourists and reminds me of Estes Park, CO

These are the only ghost towns I know of, we've visited Miles City Range Riders Museum which is really, really, cool. :!:
