They must stay in Houston for 'bout a year, seeing the Dr every day at first..It looks like we're gonna get to keep her! Wasn't looking too good for a while,as she had been misdiagnosed for so long.. I'm dancing and singing now!!! Thanks to all for prayers and good thoughts.. :)

peg, I don't recall seeing you post that here, but that aside, GREAT NEWS

I am glad that she's getting out of the hospital, and I hope she has a great recovery! Please keep us posted on how she's doing, and also let her know that we'll keep her in our thoughts and prayers.

I bet you're one happy Momma with this news!

Cheers---

TTB

Peg, God bless your whole family under that strain. That is wonderful news she has made it thru the transplant.!!

To encourage her: One of our best friends successfully went thru the treatment for TWO types of lymphoma (Hodgkins and non-Hodgkins) and has been doing well for years now, thank the Lord.

I remember you mentioning this,I've been wondering how it worked out for you...Yaaahhhh :D :D :D . Our daughters Best Friend had a bone marrow transplant, when she was three years old,her sis being donor. At 23 shes just a great young woman, healthy to boot. Good luck to you and your family :) :) :D

Thanks for sharing your good news. I  good news.

I worked with a lovely lady in Western Montana at the newspaper
who was diagnosed with two kinds of cancer. Acute lymphatic
lymphomia and another kind. I remember she was very strong, but
one day she reached for a kleenex and started crying. She said, "I'm
34 years old and I'm going to die." It was heartbreaking. That was
the first and last time she mentioned it.

However, she tried alternate medicine, without very good results.
She wound up going to Mexico where they told her to eat all the
red meat she could get down. They said she was very anemic from
all the wacky diets she had tried. She started feeling much stronger and
was able to go to Omaha for a bone marrow transplant. That was
18 to 20 years ago. She's a happy, healthy woman today.

Whooooooooooooooo Hoooooooooooooooooo.....Snoopy dance everyone!!! Our prayers go out to you and your family. I'm sure she will come through this with flying colors......... Yesssssssssss

Good to hear. A friend of mine is current in MD Anderson. Can't remember the cancer but bad prognosis without a long stay and experimental treatment.

I'm so glad your daughter's treatment was successful and she's doing better.

MD Anderson is/has been so good to the kids...One of the best places you never want to be :) Hope your friend does well..

Must be quite a cancer center...A friend of my sisters from Great Falls has been flying back and forth to there for treatments- stays with my sister and BIL who live near Austin sometimes in between treatments...I think he has acute Leukemia...

My prayers to your daughter Peg...

It's quite something..a teaching hospital..Dau had some stuff that was just out of human trials, and some that she was one of the first to take--Guess it worked..She has to be very careful for some time yet, wear mask and gloves,such--One thing when you go to talk to your "team" there is a light outside the door, while it's on,NOONE can enter..there are no phones.no interuptions for as long as you need to talk to them!! Compare that to your Dr!!

What a great idea to have no interruptions. It sounds like a wonderful hospital.
We've had a relative in hosp. with cancer and the team decided to put in a catheter and leave it in for a week. But on the weekend a different doctor
was on duty and just removed the catheter.! Monday it was put back in!
So frustrating and needless discomfort and cost all due to poor communication (or not reading the orders :evil: :evil: :evil: :mad: }
these days you almost need an advocate sharing your room who knows your case to prevent a botched job.

He's lucky she didn't throw a bedpan at him. (full)

Today I saw a friend from highschool who had both knees replaced simultaneously in mid Aug. She's doing fine, driving and looks taller! Guess because now she isn't bent over in pain. She's getting PT through a teaching PT school and has really been pleased with the latter because different students are willing to try different treatments. Nice hearing about a positive hosp. experience.

I hope your daughter continues to get better. My brother has Lympnoma and cancer in his bones,He is going thru chemo right now and is also on a experimental program from ST.Mary's in Duluth Mn.he just turned 40 so your story really strikes close to home.

Oh! We're really sorry to hear about your brother, Denny, so young to be dealing with the pain and treatments. We'll pray that the program he is in will return him to good health.
