I got Blue from KJ Stewert a couple years back.. A name that is slipping y mind, a gentlman frm Colorado, sent me his way when I was looking for a traned dog. Gosh, wish I could remember hiname, ewasa ic fellow. The dog I got is a blue dog and his coat just isn't what the two black ones have.. Betterthan some of the blue dogs I ahve heard about but he is real rough right now but living large in the mudroom getting served like a king, lol. ..

I have talked to Ben and Leslie.. I know I exchanged e-mails with both and I think I spoke on the phone will Ben.. They used to be headquarted about 45 minutes from here but moved out before we moved in.

kj has raised some very good dogs and is still doing so
the man that sent you to him was john duvall or maybe his son cody
they also raise some good kelpies
most of my dogs go back to kj's or johns dogs and they get the work done around here pretty well and i use them almost everyday

It was John Duvall, I really liked talking to him, he sounded like he wished I was next door so he could bring over his dogs and break my herd for me .. Seemed tempted to do it even though I was a few hundred miles away...

KJ was nice talking to too.. Actually, most of the folks I talked to were great talking to and I talked to folks all the way out in California and Idaho/Oregon and close in Iowa and Wisconsin and bunches of BC people to. I don't get to work them well enough and as always, the dogs are better at their job than I am at mine.

i consider john a freind and i have know them for ten years or so
he is very up to date on kelpie breeding and knows the pedigrees of dogs like some folks can rattle horse pedigrees
i always enjoy visiting with him when i go up there i try to get there early in the morning and its always way after dark when i leave for home
kj
i don't know him as well as i know john but he is a wealth of info about kelpies and bc's as well
and cattle man that guy knows cattle when i have a problem here that i can't figure out i call him before i call the vet and he can usually tell me what the problem is and how to doct for it over the phone
the world of kelpie breeders is pretty small and i have met or talked with most of them at one time or another and most are very helpful ranch folks that raise dogs for ranch work like we do here

tell me how the dog you got from kj is bred as i don't think he has very many blue pups
the male dog i got from him is a red and tan and is my #1 dog he is great and can work anything from sheep to crazy wild cattle
he is by RandR Hubcap x and out of sagebrushes till
i had another red and tan female i got from him she was also by hubcap and out a female i cant remember the prefix but her name was ima sheila
that was also a a great young dog but as fate would have it she got killed by a four year old wild steer in a panel pen in colorado last year
i wish i had gotten some pups out of her as there won't be any more just like her john has two litter mates to her but he won't let me talk him out of them
i have another pup here that i got from kj to sell to a man in brazil along with a female we bred and raised and the pup from kj is almost a full brother to taz my #1 dog so i am very excited about sending them down there as i think these will be the first kelpies to be imoted into brazil from here
they have a few down there but they all came from the land down under
well i better go supper is getting cold and i could talk dogs all night and work all day
until later
