A Texas nuclear plant is on lockdown after armed hunters were spotted in a field across from the plant, the Carson County Sheriff's Department said.


Pantex Plant activated its Emergency Response Organization at 8 a.m. Friday in response to a possible security situation. Pantex employees were moved to a safe location.

Police were on the scene and said there is no danger to the public.

The Pantex Plant is a nuclear weapons assembly and disassembly facility.

Maybe they were hunting with AR15's lol. I can't see why anybody would pay double what a decent bolt action costs to buy a gun that most times isn't as accurate.

Hunters in a field across from the plant?

Unless they were breaking a law - which does not seem to be mentioned - it sounds like a typical lefty over reaction to a legal sport.

IT's kind of like any gun, some people like certain guns some don't. To me an AR is not something that I think is the greatest thing in the world, it is just one rifle. What is great about this country is we are free to choose what wee like and your neighbor is free to do the same.

I am sorry but common sense is a subjective term, it also deals with the way you raise cattle or if you let your kids hunt, play sports rodeoand on and on.

But like I said we have the second amendment and it lets me choose which gun I would like to own, now that is common sense.
