Yup, I posted the same thing on CT so sorry if some of you see them twice.

I had wisdom teeth cut out friday so grandpa had to wean calves by himself this weekend.

This is the other bull's half brother, he's 3 and just came in from covering 40 head plus the neighbor's when they broke in together several times.

see that's my opion, I'd take a average to slightly small ribeye and t-bone as long as there are a lot of them there such as on that bull.
 
good looking bovine, jake!! Hope ya heal up and get to feeling better! Had my own wisdom teeth pulled the day I turned 21.....swelled right up like a chipmunk!! Ouch!! :shock:
 
Good lookin cattle Jake, yeap, I remember havin my wisdom teeth cut out when I was 16 years old.......I swelled up and looked like jay leno, then turned ever shade imaginable of purple, blue, green, and yellow.
 
woke up today and had a pretty good pain goin so went to the doc. Said I had a dry socket startin so he poked down in there and injected some meds that's spose to prevent it. Doesn't look to be over yet.

Thanks for the comments on the cattle. Another year and that there bull will be up for sale most likely. Some of ya'll may have to make a trip to KS to pick him up at the salebarn. :wink:
 
All I remember about getting my wisdom teeth yanked was talking to the nurse over at the center in Bozeman, than hallucinating that peoples hands were in my mouth going 1000 miles per hour and than coming too as I was wheeled out to my girlfriend (Wife now) to give me a ride home. Than laying on the couch when I got home (Don't remember the drive home) while she ran out to get the pain meds... Next thing I knew it was midnight or something like that....

Lets just say the IV they gave me, while not suppossed to knock me unconcious did just that... It was a basically painfree recovery... took the meds when I was suppossed to and never even felt sore... The only hard part was that I couldn't open my mouth very wide for a few days..
 
I for some reason am almost immune to the affects of novicaine........I was completely awake durin the whole ordeal, 2 1/2 hours of them workin with my mouth jacked open......all the shots they gave before they started, and then about 12 more because it was wearin off enuff that I could feel everthang they were doin........Those were my two lower wisdom teeth.........took me another 15 years or so to go back and have the upper one's removed.....lol that dentist said to come back in 6 mo......

I love the dentist I have now...worked for him for 8 1/2 years...and he's got that special touch that don't hurt...he can give you a shot and you never know anything happened.
 
Nice calves, Jake. Except for the color. And I had such high hopes for you. :wink:

I'll try to post some pics and show you one more time what they're supposed to look like.
 
Robin we got a couple real nice red calves this year. Got one bred heifer that I think you'd really like, she's your type of cattle.

Just a disclaimer, the cattle in the large group photo are boughten broken mouth cows from last winter that we calved out, definately not our kind of breeding stock and they are all on their way to town. They were just a project for the summer. They are good producers just not our cup of tea.

Those are my kind of cows, Jake. No fancy names, no long numbers and no EPD's. It would probably be hard for me not to try 'em just one more calf.
