decided to go and sneak up on some elk last night, got really close, without them seeing, smelling, or hearing me, till the bovine cows had to come up and bug me, guess that's what ya get when ya have friendly cows! didnt draw for a bull tag this year, so i can only get a cow with my gun. at least i just bought a bow, so a little practice and next year i can get a bull without a tag...!!! i had a cow call, and yes i used it right lol, but it sounds like a duck on the vid, dad's camera has serious problems with sound...!! couldnt use mine, it didnt zoom up enough lol

we could hear them again tonight, they're probably out in our pivot fields. will be gone tomoro nite and have friends over this weekend, maybe ill get some more pics sunday night if the elk come up again.
 
As I am checking the roast on the grill, I can hear them screaming at each other, so I bugled just to see what comes out, got three answers, one from the north, two from the south. Dark now, can't take any pics, maybe in the morning or tommorrow night. The best part, I was watching MCG do this from our deck last night with binocs, could not see her, only the elk and their reactions as she was camed and behind trees and they were in a meadow. She is getting to be a pretty good Indian. :wink: Wait till she has that bow in her hands and Daddy has to keep up. And this is my princess. WHOOOOHOO
 
good one, cowboyup. :wink: cant wait till i can be out there with a bow!! dang cows came up and were lickin me, the elk jus stared in my direction like what in the heck!?!?!

Geez you guys are lucky-elk in your back pasture. Have you tried a 'Hoochie Momma' cow call-they look like they'd work pretty sweet. Ty's going out with his muzzie in the A'M hopefully have some pics of a pig whitetail for you guys. He was coming in on a string Tuesday night but bedded down just out of range-he looked pretty good through the spotting scope.
 
Pretty awesome! I bet you don't say "yuk" when you're skinning one out either. :wink:
 
Ohhh MCG look in the 'As Promised' post-what kind of bow did you end up getting-looks like I won't make the NILE I have to coach hockey.
